Tarutium established the ‘Center for Digital Transformation’ to enhance development processes and outcomes through IT, GIS, and cutting-edge technologies. The center focuses on generating intelligent and spatial data, developing software for tracking and monitoring, and conducting research to quantify risk levels using information technology and geospatial analysis. It aims to provide solutions for natural and technological hazards by enabling real-time data for optimal risk management. The Center facilitates vulnerability assessment and risk reduction through data analysis and mapping. The Center has supported numerous projects by preparing national, state, district, and city-level GIS maps across various sectors, including floods, heat waves, and earthquakes.

The Center for Digital Transformation has been involved in developing various MIS software, apps, websites, and other web-based solutions to provide cutting-edge solutions. For instance, the Urban Services Monitoring System (UrSMS) in Surat, developed by Tarutium, has been selected as a “Project to Watch” in the Big Data Climate Challenge competition at the United Nations. The Center has also led the development of a comprehensive flood early warning system in Kolkata to address urban flooding issues through an IoT-powered system, web platform, and app for data collection and analysis, available at https://www.kflood.in.
