The Climate & Health Insights Forum (CHIF) is a flagship knowledge and partnership platform, initiated by Tarutium Global Consulting in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence on Heat and Health at Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth. Conceived as an intellectual anchor to advance the climate and health agenda in India, the Forum aims to enable sustained dialogue, evidence sharing, and cross-sector collaboration at the intersection of climate science and public health.
The Forum was inaugurated through a high-level roundtable under the Heat and Health portfolio, chaired by Mr Anil Kaul, Vice Chancellor of Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth. As part of its inaugural session, Tarutium presented key findings from its technical study in Deonar, Mumbai, one of the city’s most heat-vulnerable urban precincts, bringing ground-level insights into national-level discourse.
As climate risks intensify with rising temperatures, recurrent heatwaves, and rapid urbanisation, their health impacts are becoming increasingly systemic and inequitable. Vulnerable populations, particularly those living in dense urban settlements, face disproportionate exposure to heat stress, environmental hazards, and associated disease burdens. Despite growing evidence, a critical gap persists between research, policy, and on-the-ground implementation.
CHIF addresses this gap by positioning itself as a bridge between evidence and action. Grounded in system thinking, the Forum advances a people-centric, data-driven, and locally contextualised model of climate resilience.
Key focus areas include:
• Enabling continuous exchange of emerging evidence, innovations, and global best practices
• Informing the design of climate-responsive health systems and urban infrastructure
• Strengthening institutional capacities to anticipate, prevent, and respond to climate-induced health risks
• Advancing inclusive and equity-focused adaptation strategies, with priority for high-risk populations
Beyond a convening platform, the Forum is envisioned as a long-term community of practice. It facilitates sustained engagement through expert roundtables, policy dialogues, technical knowledge products, and collaborative initiatives that translate insights into action. By creating a structured ecosystem for dialogue and action, CHIF supports stakeholders in moving from fragmented responses to integrated, forward-looking strategies.
Through the Climate & Health Insights Forum, Tarutium reinforces its commitment to advancing evidence-led, interdisciplinary solutions that address the complex and evolving relationship between climate change and public health.
