Duties and Responsibilities
Tarutium has been working on urban and infra space, especially in urban planning, water, sanitation, mobility, energy, and other related aspects. It now embarks on a new journey, expanding its reach, capacity, and business while retaining its core agenda of providing transformative solutions to development challenges. The ideal candidates are outstanding professionals who bring significant consulting experience and client relationships and combine these consulting and business development skills with a strong technical foundation to foster and expand a network of excellent client relationships, including the private sector and governments. S/he is expected to play a key role in leading Tarutium initiatives in its growth, project design and execution, networking and partnership building, team management, monitoring of activities, etc. In addition, s/he will take a holistic view of the sector and ensure project development, management, administration, communication, monitoring, quality assurance, and team development. This role will be critical in delivering and accelerating growth in the assigned sector portfolio by reinforcing a team culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and cutting-edge analytical insights. As part of the continued growth and innovation of our Urban and Infra, Tarutium has an opportunity for an experienced professional to join our strategic consulting firm as a Consultant- Urban and Infra to help grow our established business in India and overseas and become a champion in an industry with Innovation and Social Impact at its heart.

Key Functions
He/she will perform the following functions:

Project Management

• Support the projects in substantive and operational issues, ensuring optimization of human and financial resources, nurturing a culture of results with the highest quality and performance standards, and ensuring complete client satisfaction.
• Undertake day-to-day project management, including effective implementation, monitoring, and documenting progress toward achieving outputs as per client agreement.
•  Prepare work plans and produce timely financial and progress reports as the client and organizational reporting systems require.
•  Lead project planning—with support from the involved teams and providing content expertise, crystallize objectives, milestones, quality plans, and deliverables and ensure the highest potential for value and quality delivery.
• Conduct field visits to the project sites and provide feedback and technical assistance to improve project deliverables.
• Facilitate procurement, approve requisitions, follow up on purchase orders and payment requests in relevant systems, and ensure timely delivery of project outputs as per client requirements. Adhere to the organization’s rules and regulations concerning finance, procurement, and human resources.
• Ensuring timely and high-quality client interfacing
• Lead project development by preparing proposals and concepts with innovative and solutions-driven technical inputs.
• Represent the organization in the bidding process, conferences, and workshops. Support in effectively positioning the organization as the preferred partner of clients and donors.
• Promote identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learned for organizational sharing and learning. Develop innovative concepts, position papers, and terms of reference related to specific initiatives/operations
• Lead and support an environment of knowledge building. Contribute to knowledge management by writing stories, blogs, and articles for newspapers and journals.
• Work closely with other practices, sectors, and regional units to operationalize agreed-upon plans and strategies and support them with logistics and technical inputs.
• Closely work with other colleagues in building the organization profile in sectors assigned and support in partnership building with Clients, Donors, Technical Organizations, Collectives, etc.

Qualifications and Skillsets
Education
▪ Postgraduate in Urban Planning or related field from reputed institutes

Experience

• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in project management and execution within a consulting or related environment, with exposure to corporate, government, multilateral, and private sector engagements
• Strong ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan, and execute projects effectively
• Demonstrated expertise in proposal development, project and client management, quality assurance, procurement processes, and monitoring frameworks
• Proven capability to deliver high-quality outputs with strong client service orientation, along with excellent communication and organizational skills
• Sound research, analytical, and knowledge management skills, including report writing and presentation development
• Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, industry leaders, multilateral organizations, donors, and experts
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Alignment with organizational values, work culture, and collaboration with senior leadership
• Empathetic approach to team building and people management
• Results-driven and stakeholder-oriented mindset, with strong influencing, negotiation, and partnershipbuilding skills
